Minnesota is home to many incredibly unique and equally stunning wedding locations across the state and I’ve compiled a list of my personal favorites to film and photograph at. Here’s the list of the Minnesota Wedding Venues.
1. Minikahda Club
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota — on the shore of Bde Maka Ska. This is an incredible Minnesota Wedding Venue.
What makes it special:
This historic private club has classic architecture, elegant interiors, and views of the lake + Minneapolis skyline.
Great indoor and outdoor flexibility: ballrooms, terrace space, beautifully landscaped grounds.
Light-filled bridal & groom suites, ideal for getting-ready photos.
Elegant design touches inside — looking out from grand windows, formal ballrooms with classic charm (wallpapers, historic feel) but with enough character to make each wedding feel unique.
Ideal for couples who: want a timeless, upscale lakeside venue that balances historic charm and beautiful natural views, especially around the water.
2. Lafayette Club
Location: The Minnesota Wedding Venue is located on Minnetonka Beach, on Lake Minnetonka, about 25 minutes west of Minneapolis. Address: 800 Northview Road, Minnetonka Beach, MN.
What makes it special:
Multiple event spaces: a grand ballroom (Crystal Ballroom) with hardwood floors, crystal chandeliers, veranda overlooking Crystal Bay. (lafayetteclub.com)
Outdoor garden/ceremony option: the Crystal Bay Garden is newly unveiled, beautifully landscaped with lake views, fits up to ~250 guests for an outdoor ceremony. (mnbride.com)
A Lakeview Room that opens up via a large deck – great for cocktails/social hour with views. (lafayetteclub.com)
Bridal suite with vanities, mirrors, private deck; on-site guest rooms (17) so people can stay nearby.
Ideal for couples who: want a scenic lakeside wedding with both indoor elegance and outdoor charm, plus convenience for guests staying overnight.
3. The American Swedish Institute (ASI)
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota on Park Avenue (often called the Golden Mile), this is one of my personal favorite Minnesota Wedding Venues.
What makes it special:
Historic Turnblad Mansion (built in early 1900s) + modern Nelson Cultural Center addition for more contemporary event options. (American Swedish Institute)
Multiple settings: the Mansion rooms, veranda, courtyard, and modern halls allow flexibility depending on guest count, weather, and style. (American Swedish Institute)
On-site catering by ASI, which means you don’t need to go far to get food aligned with venue’s style. (American Swedish Institute)
Ideal for couples who: love a blend of old-world elegance and modern design, want multiple aesthetic options in one place, and want a venue rich in character and photo-worthy nooks.

5. Redeemed Farm
Location: Scandia, Minnesota — about 35 minutes from the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul). Set in the St. Croix Valley. (Redeemed Farm). Jeff and Julie over at Redeemed farm make it something better than you’d think. The is also one of my favorite Minnesota Wedding Venues.

Indoor-outdoor versatility, so weather is less of an issue. (The Knot)
Getting-ready spaces for both bride & groom; social hour and separate areas to reduce transitions/flips in front of guests. (The Knot)
Ideal for couples who: want a rustic-elegant, pastoral setting; those who love nature, vineyards, barns, and multiple venue styles; those who want memorable photos in garden, barn, vineyard, etc.
6. The Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot

Closing Thoughts
Each of these venues offers something different:
Waterside / lakeshore magic: Minikahda Club, Lafayette Club
Historic & architectural beauty: American Swedish Institute, Depot
Rustic / vineyard / farm style: Redeemed Farm
Modern, flexible, bright spaces: The Hutton House
Choosing the “right” venue often comes down to what kind of mood & style you want, how many guests you have, weather considerations, and whether you want everything (ceremony, reception, getting-ready) in one place.
