Jake and Brooklyn are my friends from Woodlands Church in Plover, WI. When I was a youth group leader I met Jake and then I took Brooklyn’s senior photos. Fast forward a few years and I’m filming her wedding.
As a Minnesota wedding videographer with over a decade of experience, I’ve had the chance to document weddings in some truly unforgettable places—and Jake and Brooklyn Laube’s day at the Paine Arts Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin was something special. This historic estate, with its gardens, architecture, and timeless charm, set the perfect stage for a day full of emotion and meaning. The more I film at the Paine, the more I enjoy it. It’s beautiful yet simple. It’s timeless and provides a charm that other estates don’t have. The many different rooms and gardens make it an incredible backdrop.
What made this wedding even more unique was the intentional mix of modern and nostalgic filmmaking. Alongside my go-to cameras, I captured parts of the day on 16mm film, giving their video a raw, cinematic edge that felt straight out of an old love story. The grain, the texture, the imperfections—it brought a kind of beauty you just don’t get with digital alone.
From above, I used my DJI Mavic 4 Pro drone to catch stunning aerial footage of the ceremony setup, sweeping garden shots, and wide establishing frames that brought a whole new depth to the final film. Paine’s grounds look incredible from the sky.
With over ten years in the wedding world, I know how to move through a wedding day without adding any stress. I anticipate moments, stay out of the way when I need to, and give direction when it matters. That experience means I can stay calm under pressure—and still deliver gorgeous, story-driven films that feel true to each couple.
If you’re planning a wedding and looking for a Minnesota wedding videographer who blends vintage film with modern storytelling and knows how to capture the heart of your day, I’d love to talk. Jake and Brooklyn’s wedding was a reminder of how powerful it is to have your love story told in a way that feels real.
